Soul of Rome: Five Emperors — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your download, purchase, access to, and use of Soul of Rome: Five Emperors (the "App"), package ID com.lagostaventures.imperator, provided by ObedientAmbition, Unipessoal LDA ("ObedientAmbition", "we", "us", or "our"), operating as Lagosta Games. By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

ObedientAmbition, Unipessoal LDA is a company registered in Portugal and based in Lisbon. You can contact us at stores@lagostaventures.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a legally binding contract to make purchases. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you may use the App and make purchases only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Licence to use the App

Subject to these Terms and the Google Play terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App for your personal, non-commercial use on compatible devices associated with your Google Play account. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

4. Free content and full-game unlock

The App can be downloaded and played without payment. The free portion includes the Augustus and Tiberius reigns. An optional one-time in-app product unlocks the remaining full-game content, including Caligula, Claudius, Nero, and eligible Historical Chapter starts.

The unlock is a digital licence associated with the Google Play account used to purchase it. It is not a subscription, virtual currency, or item with real-world monetary value. The launch version of the App does not display advertising.

5. Payments, restoration, and refunds

Google Play processes the purchase, presents the price in your local currency, collects payment, and applies its payment and refund rules. We do not receive your payment-card or bank-account details. Taxes may be added where applicable.

The App provides a purchase-restoration function and may cache an eligible entitlement for offline access. Restoration depends on Google Play, the Google account used for the original purchase, device connectivity, and continued availability of the product. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights or refund rights that apply under law or Google Play policy.

6. Saves and device changes

Gameplay progress and settings are stored locally on your device. The full-game purchase may be restorable through Google Play, but local saves, completed runs, achievements, Annals, and Legacy progress may not move automatically to another device and may be lost if you clear App data, reset progress, uninstall the App, lose the device, or if storage becomes corrupted. You are responsible for protecting your device.

7. Acceptable use

When using the App, you agree not to:

• break applicable law or infringe the rights of others;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or create derivative works of the App except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• circumvent purchase, entitlement, content-locking, or security mechanisms;
• use cheats, bots, automation, exploits, or unauthorised software to interfere with the App;
• redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content without written permission; or
• interfere with or compromise the integrity or security of the App or related store services.

8. Intellectual property

The App, including its software, artwork, writing, game systems, audio, logos, characters, and other content, is owned by ObedientAmbition or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. "Soul of Rome: Five Emperors", "Lagosta Games", "LagostaVentures", and related names and logos may not be used without prior written permission.

9. Historical and creative content

Soul of Rome is a work of interactive entertainment inspired by historical people and events. It combines source-based historical material with compressed timelines, game systems, fictional dialogue, counterfactual choices, and alternative outcomes. It is not an academic reference and should not be relied on as professional, legal, political, financial, or educational advice.

10. Third-party services

The App relies on Google Play for distribution, licensing, and purchase processing. Your use of Google Play is governed by Google's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party platforms, network availability, account decisions, or services outside our control.

11. Updates and availability

We may fix, balance, expand, update, suspend, or discontinue features of the App. Updates may change compatibility, content, rules, interface, or saved-game behaviour. We will take reasonable care with paid access, but we do not promise that the App, every feature, or every third-party service will remain available forever. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.

12. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or free of harmful components. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ObedientAmbition shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, progress, opportunity, or goodwill arising from use of the App. Nothing excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the purchase system, or compromise the App's security. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the App, business, or law changes. The revised Terms will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Where required, material changes will also be communicated through the App or Google Play.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence continue to apply, including any right to bring proceedings in courts available to you under those rules. Subject to those protections, the courts of Lisbon, Portugal have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the App.
